Okay, I don't usually try and put my thoughts about new movies out too much but I decided that after watching the Japanese Live Actions for Death Note, I didn't want to see anyone bad playing characters in the American version. I don't want a bad director (thank the lord that Catherine Hardwicke is busy hopefully NOT ruining Maximum Ride at the moment) or a bad producer. I want Death Note to turn out perfectly because the Japanese did the most amazing job on it in their live actions.

I've been having a look at what other people think about the actors. I have been thinking a lot about this too. I remember freaking out the first time I heard someone mention Zac Efron and Light Yagami in the same sentence. I will chew off my arm if Zac Efron plays Light, if it was Mello or Matt or even (dare I say it about Sam Vincent's character) Stephan I wouldn't mind because I wouldn't have to look at him FOR THE WHOLE FREAKING MOVIE but Light, no, no, no! The only upside would be watching him die at the end.

Okay so here are my opinions:

Light Yagami:
Chase Crawford: I don't know if he can act but he looks so much like Light that it's kind of scary. I really think he could do it.

L:
Johnny Depp: Yes he's too old but there is a little thing called make-up and it can work miracles my friends. I love Ken'ichi and he IS L. He didn't just play L. He embodies everything that is L and I love him for it so I didn't think that there could be anybody else in the ENTIRE WORLD who could be L (*glomps*). I never really considered Johnny until I heard he'd actually enquired about playing L. He may not BE L like Ken'ichi is but I think he is probably the only actor in the English-speaking world who could pull L off. I can't see him doing the crouch thing but I can see him holding things the way L does and doing the thumb thinking face. I really think he'd be able to do it.

Misa:
Ashley Greene: She's cute, she can be hyper. I think she could play the ever hyperactive and adorable Misa Amane!

Watari:
Viggo Mortensen: Now, before any kills me for what I am about to say, I would like to state that I fell in love with Aragorn when Viggo Mortensen portrayed him in LotR, but Viggo is getting old and I think if they give him some white hair, glasses and a top hat then he'd make a good Watari. ^.^
Or the guy who played Alfred in Batman. Honestly L and Watari remind a lot of us DN fans of Batman and Alfred so I think it would be quite ironic if one of Alfred's actors played Watari.

Teru:
Ben Barnes: I don't know whether I'll regret this statement or not because I also want Ben to play Dimitri if they do a Vampire Academy movie so he'll have to do Strigoi Dimitri so he has to be psycho in that so I thought why not to hot, crazy Kira. I think Ben looks like Teru but as for whether he can pull of the psychotic 'delete! delete! delete!' is another matter entirely. I think he'd be a good choice though.

Mello:
Shout outs anyone? I can't think of an actor that screams 'Mello' when I look at them.

Near:
Can anyone give me some hints for who they want to play Near? I can't think of anyone cute or talented enough to play Near.

Ryuk voice: Anime voice actor.

Rem voice: Anime voice actor.

Matsuda:
Orlando Bloom: Matsuda is young, good looking and so adorable. I think Orlando could do it. If not Matsu then Giovanni surely?

Stephen (a.k.a Giovanni):
Orlando Bloom: I already opted him for Matsuda but still, if not him then Stephen!

If anyone has any ideas for the multitude of characters that I missed, give me a hint. I'd like to hear what other people think.
But like I said, I hate Zac Efron so NOBODY EVEN THINK ABOUT SUGGESTING HIM FOR LIGHT OR I WILL HUNT YOU DOWN AND GUT YOU LIKE A FISH!!!!!! Zac Efron's name does not belong in the same sentence as the name of our awesome anime (see I didn't use it). I hate having to mention him in this journal post but it'll have to stand I just had to make my point about WHY IS SO WRONG FOR ZAC FREAKING EFRON TO PLAY LIGHT IM-A-GAY (Hehehe) IN THE ENGLISH DEATH NOTE LIVE ACTION MOVIE/S!!!!!!!
